Sugar and Spice mid challenge post for Polka Doodles!!

Howdy friends. We are halfway through our Sugar and Spice challenge at Polka Doodles so Team A are here to give you some mid challenge inspiration so come and join us as there is a fabulous prize up for grabs!
I love to bake so the Sugar and Spice theme for me had to include some sort of food! I wanted to use this fabulous Dollie Daydream  - Birthday Digi stamp and thought I wanted to add a birthday cake design paper behind her but then I came across this fabulous cupcake image from the Cherryblossom Lane cd collection so I enlarged it and I think it works perfect!
I coloured Dollie DayDream - Birthday Digistamp in with tria markers! I added some twine around the cake, then added kindyglitz to the star and crystal effects to the flame on the candle! Then I just added the sentiment from the Sensational Sentiments stamp sheet, inked around the edges of the card and added the rhinestones!
Did you know that Polka Doodles now has an Etsy store for this digi and many others as well as being available at Polka Doodles.
Look forward to stopping by your blogs and seeing what you have created for our Sugar and Spice challenge!

Make it Manly at Paper Crafting Journey!!

Todays post is written with a heavy heart! My cousin who had been living a very healthy, active, full life but living with a brain tumour for the past 20 years, finally lost his battle yesterday. Although I had not seen him for a long time it has still hit me pretty hard. It is not fair that someone so young (he was in his early 40's)  had to leave us so early! He is no longer in pain and has donated his organs so has given new life to others and he is now a beautiful star in the sky tonight shining brighter than the others with my Auntie and Grandparents welcoming him with open arms!! But leaves his Mum, Dad and sister (and the rest of his extended family) grieving... I can't begin to imagine how they are feeling right now... :( I am kind of feeling at a loss and not really into creating...
But it is time for a new challenge at Paper Crafting Journey and this fortnights challenge is Make it Manly which I think is something we sometimes struggle with because to be honest it is easy to make girl cards cos you can add bling and flowers and pretty things!! But I do love making cards for boys/men because it's a challenge and I have mainly boys to make cards for.
We are sponsored  by
KennyK shop badge
this fortnight and we got to play with some of their images!
How fab is this dude! As with most male cards I keep them pretty simple!!So I coloured the image in with tria markers and added kindyglitz to the cake! I then embossed the orange card stock with a happy birthday embossing folder which I think inked over with walnut stain distress ink! I then just added the punched out stars and the button!!
I hope that you will join us this fortnight  at Paper Crafting Journey and share your manly cards.

Happy Birthday at Elisabeth Bell's World!

Wow. can you believe it is nearly March already? How quickly the time is flying!!! And because it is, it means it is time for a new challenge at Elisabeth Bell's World. This months challenge is Happy Birthday.. a nice easy one, so pull out your Elisabeth Bell stamps and join us because there is a fabulous prize on offer!
I decided to colour up Cinnamon Sugar from Elisabeth Bell's collection at Whimsy Stamps. I wanted to try something a little different by colouring her a different colour and I actually quite like the way it turned out although I could have shaded it better! I coloured her in with tria markers, then inked around the edge of the image! I embossed some black card stock using a Happy Birthday embossing folder. I cut that in half diagonally then put a red strip between the two! I used a border punch  on cs to put behind the image, then added all the embellishments!! Not sure if it's perhaps too dark! My boys love it because it's their favourite footy teams colours.. :)
I hope that you will join us this month at Elisabeth Bell's World this month. We would love to at least double our entrants  this month so why not come and join in. Don't forget there is also The Digi Bell's Blog hop still going on where you can win Elisabeth Bell's new digi image - Going on a Walk

Love at Crafty Sentiments Designs!

OMG I nearly forgot to do this post!! Have had my card done for so long but hadn't done the post!! Anyway I am here now so all is well.
Time for a new challenge at Crafty Sentiments Designs and this week we would like to see your "LOVE" creations. A fabulous CS prize is up for grabs so be sure to join us and for even more chances to win then why not use a CS image!
I have a friend's wedding coming up in a months time so I decided to make a wedding easel card!

I used two Crafty Sentiments Designs images Sincerely Yours and Tobey - Groom 2. I coloured the images in with tria markers and I added a bit of sparkle to the flowers on Sincerely Yours. The papers on both the front and inside of the card are from Polka Doodles and I just added kindyglitz for that sparkle  and crystal effects to the heart! And the sentiment is one I got from a sentiments book that I have which I thought was perfect!!
Well I hope that you will join us this week at Crafty Sentiments. I look forward to stopping by to see your creations!

Black, White, Red and Kraft at Craft Your Passion!

A new challenge has started at Craft Your Passion and this week we have a colour challenge for you! We would like to see your creations using "Black, White, Red and Kraft"! Not a combination I would usually use but I do like these colours together! We are sponsored by QKR this week
QKR Stampede
and we were lucky enough to choose an image to use from their shop.
I thought this image was fantastic but I haven't come up with a quirky sentiment for inside of the card yet! I coloured the image in with tria markers and the colour of the sign is my attempt at colouring it to look like kraft!! Close but not quite! I decided to keep the design simple so only added  a few embellishments but to be honest I don't think it needs anymore!.
I hope that you will join us this week at Craft Your Passion

Sketch 59 at Seems a Little Sketchy!

Time for a new challenge at Seems a Little Sketchy and this fortnight we are sponsored by

Here is this fortnights sketch

and here is my take on it
I used Mickey Urchin from Lacy Sunshine Stamps and I coloured him in with tria markers. I have to admit it's not the best colouring as I was super tired so I do apologise! I used some embossed paper I had then used some punched out stars for embellishments. I don't like to add too many embellishmnets to male cards because I have been told many times that they just end up in the bin anyway... (from the mouth of my brother-in-law). So that is it.. I hope that you can join us this week at Seems a Little Sketchy!

Digi Bell's Blog Hop Featuring Elisabeth Bell's "Going for a Walk"!

Hello friends and welcome to The Digi Bell's Feb Blog Hop! As always we have lots of gorgeous creations to share but let's get the formalities out of the way! If you arrived here from Lynda's blog then you are certainly in the right spot but if you have randomly stopped by or got a little lost then head back to The Digi Bell's blog where there is the lost o the Hop Stops and also all the details on how you could use this sweet image!! What is this sweet image? Well it is none other than Elisabeth Bell's
"Going For a Walk"
Isn't she adorable!!! I decided to go with a pink and brown theme for this card. I coloured Going for a walk with tria markers! I used a border punch on the papers to make it a bit girly and fancy but with the picture being the main focus of my card didn't want to add too much more to it so I found some chipboard flowers in  my stash! I inked them with some brown and pink inks then after sticking them down I added crystal effects to them. I also found this little sentiment tag while cleaning out my craft stuff this week andd it looked perfect for this! Then I finished off the card with  a couple of buttons and rhinestones!!
Well that is it from me. It's now time to head on over to Lynne's Blog.
Enjoy the hop and if you would like this image now or any other Elisabeth Bell digi image then head on over and check out her digital collection now!

New release Day 2 at Crafty Sentiments!

Exciting times this week at Crafty Sentiments  with a new release  so the DT/GDT are sharing their creations over on the Inspiration blog using the new images... I had the pleasure of using Let's Celebrate. I wasn't too sure what I was going to create but then I came across this gorgeous folded card while blog surfing and thought I'd give it a go.

This is the finished card! I used lots of scrap papers so there are lots of different papers used but they all go together.

This is the partially closed card! I decided to make a smaller card than the one on the tutorial I followed at StampARTic tutorial. I made my card with a 9" x 9" piece of card stock and worked out from there where to score the lines to make the folds!
I'm not sure if I will add a plain coloured card stock piece to the centre so that it's better to write on or if I will just leave it. I guess I'll decide when I go to use it.

For the paper belt I used a long strip of plain white card stock and added some patterned papers that I used on the card! I cut out a white square and punched a border around it and stuck it to the belt! Then die cut an oval shape!

I coloured Let's Celebrate in with tria markers and used some glitter pens on the image also. To finish off the belt I added the ribbon..
I hope you like today's sneak peek, be sure to stop by the Crafty Sentiments Inspirations blog for more inspiration. This and the other new releases will be available on the 22nd Feb at Crafty Sentiments..

Love is In the Air at Paper Crafting Journey!

Hello my fellow bloggers...Time for a new challenge at Paper Crafting Journey and this fortnight we would like to see your love creations  yes "Love is in the Air". Our sponsor is
and the DT were lucky enough to get to play with some of their images.
Now it might look like I've just added a bit of glitter to this pre-coloured creation but I have actually cut out extra parts of the image so that I could give it a bit of depth. So the scalloped border at the top and bottom were glued on and kindyglitz added. I added extra leaves and the flower and the couple as well, then added kindyglitz everywhere. I also added crystal effects to the top word LOVE so that it would stand out!
and that is it...
I hope that you can join us this fortnight at Paper Crafting Journey.

I Love You This Much!

Well there are some major fires burning here in Victoria and one just up the road from me so it is a little bit scary but were we are we are in no immediate danger but it does make you think about the people that it is affecting!!
It's my turn to post on The Digi Bell's blog so I have made this bright and cheerful, birthday card using I Love you This Much from Elisabeth Bell's digi collection.
I have coloured I love you This Much in with tria markers. I then used some more scraps of papers to make the background and the flowers. I stuck the image on white scrap cs and inked around the edge with pickled raspberry distress ink which I also punched out two flowers then added rhinestones. I added the ribbon and the buttons and decided to add the sentiment as an after thought!
If you would like this or any other adorable Elisabeth Bell digi image then you can find them in her digi collection HERE!

Love is in the Air at Polka Doodles!!

Well I am sitting in the comfort of my air conditioned lounge room as I write this as it is a scorcher outside but due to be in the 40's tomorrow so I guess today is not too bad.
It's time for a new challenge at Polka Doodles and with it comes a few changes.. The main one being that our challenges are moving to fortnightly. For all the details make sure you stop by the Polka Doodles blog, you will also be dazzled by all the DT's fabulous creations!
So this week's challenge at Polka Doodles is Love is in the Air! The DT were challenged to use the new Dollie Daydream goes East cd  which you can get from the Polka Doodles store. I was originally going to decorate a jar full of fortune cookies but decided to play around with the elements from the cd so made this fan instead which I just love.

My boys loved this when I showed them and so did a friend of mine!! I coloured the image in with tria markers to match the papers I used for the fan. I didn't like the hair when I first coloured it but once it had settled overnight it looks ok I think! The template, papers, image and alphabet I used to make the word love are all on the Dollie Daydream goes East cd. I first printed out the paper, then printed the fan template on that, then created the word love and printed it again.
I hope that you can join us this fortnight at Polka Doodles. And be sure to check out the Polka Doodles store.. Oh and there is now also a Polka Doodles Etsy store where you can buy the individual girls.... So no excuse not to go and grab these fabulous images :)

Super quick post to share with you as it's just after 1am here and I really need to go to bed! It's my turn to post on The Digi Bell's blog and I've used Merry Weather from Elisabeth Bell's digi collection

I coloured Merry Weather in with tria markers and inked around the edge with ink! Didn't really have a plan when colouring this image but then decided to make a starburst card and use up some of my scraps. I just love how these cards look!! I added ribbon, flowers, buttons and rhinestones and the sentiment! I then finished it off with kindyglitz and crystal effects on the water on the image...
Don't forget there is a challenge going on at the moment over at the Elisabeth Bell's World challenge blog. We love to see your creations using any EB image from any company she designs for .
