We're All Going on a Summer Holiday at Crafty Sentiments (GDT)

Good evening and welcome to a new challenge at Crafty Sentiments. I know it's only my second week as a GDT member but I am really enjoying creating with all the gorgeous images!! So thank you again to everyone at Crafty Sentiments for having me!
This week the challenge is "We're All Going on a Summer Holiday" - now it is winter here so it was fun creating a bright summery card. I had originally started off with an Aussie theme of Green and Gold colours but I added the orange just for a bit of contrast.

I coloured the "Primrose - Beach Life" in with tria markers and added crystal effects to the glasses to give it the glass look. I also used glitter pen on the dots on her bathers, rim of her glasses and flicked through her hat! For the card I started with yellow cardstock then added  orange then  strips of green. I kept the top and bottom of the card yellow to represent the sun and sand! I then put kindyglitz on it for texture! I added the twine, left the card for awhile cos I wasn't quite sure what embellishments to add. A day or two later I remembered I had a box of shells so I punched out some yellow circles covered them in kindyglitz and added the star shells. I left it there but when I went to take the photo I felt it needed something else so I added the thongs!!!
I hope that you can join us this week at Crafty Sentiments!

3d it at Craft Your Passion (a little late)

I have had a few days off crafting as my Mum has been staying with me, and I had to work so I am a little late posting this!! I apologise to my teamies and to my loyal followers!!
The challenge happening at CYP is "3D It". You are welcome to make any 3D project or add a layered/decoupaged image. Or maybe even both! We are sponsored by
We were lucky enough to play with some of their images and this is what I created!!
Here is another view so you can see what I have 3D'd.
The image was pre-coloured so I just got to play!! I used the digital papers that came with the image and layered them before printing them along with the image and sentiment! I then printed out the image two more times so that I could use the some of the elements to 3D. (as you can see in the image above). I then just added kindyglitz to the backing paper and my son made the cherries out of buttons to finish off the card!!
I hope that you can join us this week at Craft Your Passion!

Paper Crafting Journey meets Elisabeth Bell's World!!

Wow, it sure has been a busy week for me but thankfully I am a bit ahead with DT cards so was able to take a few nights off crafting!!
I have actually combined my card for two challenges because I didn't have a specific image to use for one of them!
Today sees a new challenge start at Paper Crafting Journey and our challenge is Punches and/or Dies! We are sponsored by Whimsy Stamps this fortnight!!
Today also sees the start of a new month long challenge at Elisabeth Bell's World where  our challenge is Christmas in July!! Always fab prizes up for grabs so head on over to the blog for details!
I used Elisabeth Bell's "Santa with Snack" from Whiff of Joy! I coloured him with tria markers and added rock candy stickles to his gloves, trim on his jacket and hat. I used papers from  a kaisercraft xmas paper pad for the base of the card! I then wrapped to pieces of ribbon around that to make the card lok like a present! I then added bits and pieces that represented Christmas - I used a pre cut die cut Christmas Wishlist, Xmas trees cut from some paper, the key (for santa to get in cos we don't have a chimney), snowflakes (a die),  as Christmas in July for us in Melbourne is in winter,  the sentiments of what Christmas to me is all about (the one you can't quite read is "The True Spirit of Christmas is Love". Then to finish off the card I added the border using an eyelet border punch, the twine and the little green star ribbons. I really love how this turned out!! Not want to make one that represent Christmas in Australia in Dec!! Will share once I've made it!! :)
I hope that you can join us this fortnight at Paper Crafting Journey and for the month at Elisabeth Bell's World!

Happy Birthday at Craft Your Passion!!

It's time for a new challenge at Craft Your Passion and this week we have a super easy theme - Happy Birthday!! We are sponsored by Birdie Brown and I got to play with this image:

I coloured the image in with Tria markers, using the colour scheme from the papers!! I followed the Seems a Little Sketchy sketch mainly because I forgot what DT I was designing for...lol but I do love how this turned out! I inked around the edge of the image, punched out some borders and added the twine! Then I  printed out some balloons from the new Polka Doodles BonBon Belles cd collection onto vellum. I then added some cotton for the balloons and tied them to the button. Then finished it off with the Make it Crafty sentiment and the rhinestones!
I hope you can join us this week at Craft Your passion!

Sketch #44 at Seems a Little Sketchy!

hello and welcome to a new challenge at Seems a Little Sketchy!! We have a fabulous sponsor this week - Bugaboo stamps who were generous enough to let us use one of their images and they are also offering a wonderful prize!

Here is my take on the sketch

I chose "Right Beside You silhouette". I inked a piece of white card stock with peacock feathers and squeezed lemonade distress inks. I the printed out the image on it!! I then used the left over inked cardstock and punched out two border strips using the eyelet border and punched out an extra one using black cardstock! I had some black and white twine so I inked that with the peacock feathers distress ink also so it matched the card. I then die cut some flowers and a flourish and added that and finished off the card with a few rhinestones!! Oh and you can't see in this pic but I used some shimmer chalk and rubbed it over the image!
I hope that you can join us this week at Seems a Little Sketchy!
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
* Pile it On - Thinking of you/Just Because
* The Squirrel and the Fox - Use Something Spooled
* Crafts for Eternity - Inky Fingers

Isn't she so sweet!! I coloured Fairy Merrily in with Tria markers and added kindyglitz to her wings! I cut out a circle from the card then wrapped twine around the card then adhere the image to it!! I wanted to image to be the main focus so decided to keep the design simple, by adding a few buttons and rhinestones then adding all the flowers around the image!! oh and it doesn't show up in the picture but I chalked some purple clouds on the inside of the card!!

Let it Fly at Polka Doodles!!

Wow, where has the week gone? I have worked two days this week and it has made the week go even quicker than usual!! Looking forward to a crafty weekend at home!
Well it is time for a new challenge at Polka Doodles and our theme this week is "Let it Fly" - so butterflies, angels, birds, hot air balloons, aeroplanes - you get the idea!!!
As always there are fabulous Polka Doodles prizes up for grabs so come and join in  our challenge!!
I had fun creating a card for this challenge with the help of my 6 year old son, using images, papers and elements from the new Bonbon Belle's double cd.

I used the pre-coloured hot air balloon which I layered and cut out the flags so it looks like they were blowing in the wind! I also 3D'd the basket and the flying sign, which I added the sentiment from!! I put it all onto the cloud paper which is also from the BonBon Belles double cd. I then added the bird and the buttons! I decided  the hot air balloon needed a passenger so I found this sweet little girl on the Double Sprinkle of Kraft cd rom. To finish off the card I rubbed some white shimmer chalk over the bird and clouds!
I hope that you can join us this week... why not use some Polka Doodles images, we always love to see them on your projects!! There are so many amazing images on the cd collections or if you cannot wait for the cd to arrive in the mail why not find something in the digi world section where you can download your purchase immediately.

Good evening (well it is 1.37am here so probably should be saying good morning!!!) Was hoping to get this done a few hours ago but wasn't feeling the best!!! Thankfully I should get a sleep in in the morning :)
Anyway, it is my turn to post over on The Digi Bell's Post today and I decided to use Little Miss Mouse from Elisabeth Bell's digi collection.

I coloured Little Miss Mouse in with Tria markers, (I coloured two of the images so that I could 3d parts of it) I added kindyglitz to the  wings and middle of the flowers! I then die cut the image and inked and glittered the edge!  I cut up some strips of scrap paper then added flowers and buttons!! Really love how it turned out!!!

Christmas in July at Paper Crafting Journey!

My boys and I actually celebrate Christmas in July!!! We get the tree out, have a roast for lunch with bon bon's etc and of course presents!!! It was a tradition we started about 4 years ago and the boys love it!!!
So this fortnights challenge is all about Christmas in July at Paper Crafting Journey!! We are sponsored by Rick St Dennis and we were lucky enough to be able to choose an image to use so I chose the North Pole sign!!!

I coloured the North Pole image in with tria markers, I then added some glitter pen to the red bits  (can't see in this photo) Then added crystal effects to the icicles and rock candy stickles to the snow!!! I then just added the merry Christmas sentiment, the twine and rhinestones and initially left it at that. But I had a friend staying here and she said it looked a bit plain compared to what I usually make so I added the snow flakes and I think she was right. They just finished off the card perfectly!!!
I hope that you can join us this fortnight at PCJ!
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
* Fab n Funky - Christmas in July
* Inky Impressions - Christmas in July
* Crafty Sentiments - Christmas in July

Patchwork Backgrounds!

It's time for a new challenge at Craft Your Passion and this week we would like to see you PATCHWORK BACKGROUNDS. We are sponsored by The Sugar Kissed Cottage this week and we were lucky enough to get some images to work with! I used Picking Flowers:
I coloured the image in with tria markers!! The background was created using already stitched squares from a 12 x12 DP I had! I then just added the Summer Border die and some die cut butterflies! I kept it pretty simple with just the browns and bit of pink!! Wasn't too sure what I was aiming for but like how it turned out!!
I hope that you can join us this week!!

Crafty sentiments meets Seems a Little Sketchy!!

Hello and welcome to our 43rd sketch at Seems a Little Sketchy!! We are lucky enough to have three sponsors this week - Di's Digi Downloads, The Robins Nest and Crafty Sentiments!! Crafty Sentiments were generous enough to give us a few images to create with including one of their latest digi's Harriet!

Now I have to make a confession - when I started making this card I had an idea in mind and went with it, then realised I had to follow a sketch! oops lol... so instead of changing the whole card I decided to think outside the squeare and instead of adding another designer paper I chose to add acetate instead so the image and the eyelet borders are on the acetate!! Harriet is coloured in with tria markers!! I coloured the image in twice then cut out the hat, lollipop and her skirt and added them to the original image I coloured for a bit of dimension!! The papers are from my scrap stash and I added the ribbon and rhinestones to finish off the card!!
Here are a couple of other views so you can see the acetate and layers!!

I hope that you can join us at Seems a Little Sketchy this week!
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
* Crafty Sentiments - Red, White and Blue
* 2 Sisters - Red, White and Blue

Make your own background at Polka Doodles!

Well the kids are on holidays here in Melbourne so I have scheduled this post cos I'm not sure where I am (that sounds weird - lol). And this being scheduled means I have been super organised ( a rare thing for me) :)
So it is time for a new challenge at Polka Doodles and we challenge you to Make your Own Background Paper. As always there are some fab Polka Doodles prizes to be won! So I hope that you can play along!

I decided to make a boys card for this challenge cos they are cards I am always short of! So I went straight to the Pretty Tuff CD Rom. I designed my own background paper using the ipod image, then printed it out on vellum. I stuck that onto a red cs base... I then cut out a small blue rectangle and rounded the corners and added a black strip for the image to sit on! I then just added some buttons and the sentiment which is also from the Pretty Tuff CD Rom.

Red White and Blue at Crafty Sentiments!!

Good evening /morning/ afternoon!! It's pretty wild and windy here in Sunbury so a perfect evening to be creating!!
A week or two ago I was lucky enough to get this Harriet freebie from Crafty Sentiments (which I don't think is available anymore) and I was supposed to join in a challenge but I just haven't had the time but yesterday and today I decided to make the time to create a card for the current challenge!
So here it is:
I coloured the image in with tria markers! I then used some paper scraps from my stash. I've popped the striped paper on foam dots for a bit of dimension. I added the spotted ribbon, then added the buttons, twine and the sentiment!!!!
I am entering this into the following challenges:
* Crafty Sentiments - Red, White and Blue

A Tasty Read!

It's my turn to post over on The Digi Bell's blog and due it to it being school holidays here in Melbourne, my time is limited so I decided to make a CAS card!
I used A Tasty Read from Elisabeth Bell's Digital Collection. I coloured her in with Tria markers. I then just die cut and framed the image and added the sentiment and inked around the edge of the card!
Sorry for the short post but it's quite late here and I need to get to bed!!
