Masculine theme at Paper Crafting journey!!

Wow, a few posts from me this week!! Aren't you lucky...lol. Well I am slowly getting back on top of things so hopefully I can keep ahead now!!
It's time for a new challenge at Paper Crafting Journey and this week we would like to see your masculine cards! Now I may have interpreted this the wrong way and did a card for a boy (I see on the PCJ blog the masculine theme is focused around Fathers day but we don't celebrate that till Sept  here in Oz) so I apologise.
We are sponsored by Di's digi Stamps
I am not sure where this image is from but I have had it coloured up for ages!!! The image has been coloured with tria markers!! I used my son's dinosaur papers to create the card then added a few embellishments. Pretty simple but perfect for a little boy!!
I hope that you can join us this fortnight at Paper Crafting Journey!!

Little Friends!

Hi Folks, it's my turn to post on The Digi Bell's Blog today! It's been a busy couple of weeks so I decided to make a quick bookmark to share with you using Little Friends which is from Elisabeth Bell's Digital Collection.
I have used this image heaps since it was released last month, she is just a gem to colour and perfect for so many occasions. So I coloured her with tria markers, die cut a square to put behind her.. I had planned to stick her on foam dots but decided I didn't want it too bulky if it was used as a book mark! So I added some flat flowers for the same reason. I didn't think it needed too many embellishments so I added the ribbon and a few small rhinestones, distressed around the edge and thought it was enough!! And I thought this sentiment was perfect for a bookmark so stamped that on then went over it with a black glitter pen!!!
Sorry for the short post but have to work tomorrow so better get a decent nights sleep!!

I then used my papers from my scraps stash to decorate it!! I used a border die at the bottom and cropped the image so that it would fit onto my card!! For the natural materials part of the card I added the twine!! I told you it was a challenge for me! :)Because of the paper I decided not to add anything else!!

To Die For at Polka Doodles!

Hi Everyone, you will have to excuse this super quick post but I have one hundred and one things to do and no time to do it in!!!
So it's time for a new challenge at Polka Doodles and this week we would like to see you use your dies!!! pretty easy huh!!!
Here is my card I made:

I was going through all my Polka Doodle CD rom's and found this gorgeous little girl on the Double Sprinkles of Kraft CD ROM. I know I use a lot of pre-coloured images but it allows me more time to spend on creating a beautiful card!! The papers are from the same CD Rom as is the sentiment!! I then added the border die and the flower that came from that and the die cut butterflies. And of course finished it off with rhinestones and kindyglitz!!
Again I apologise for the quick post!!

Are you a Party Animal?

I used to be but not anymore...LOL! It is time for a new challenge at Craft Your Passion and this week we would like to see your creation featuring Party Animals.
It can be any occasion but the animals must be celebrating something! We are sponsored by

I used Henry Celebrating Mouse from Whiff of Joy . I coloured him in with Tria markers (basing the colours on the paper!!) I didn't want to add too many embellishments cos I liked the paper and because it's a boy card. So I just added the extra layer with the words paper and then just added a few stars and buttons and the twine!
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
* Dream Valley - Animals
* Here Come the Boys - Buttons
* 4 Crafty Chicks - Birthday
* Charisma Cardz - No Digi's allowed

Photo Inspration at Paper Crafting Journey!!

Wow, we had loads of entries for our Anything Goes challenge at Paper Crafting Journey... I always love stopping by the blogs and seeing everyone's gorgeous creations!!! But two weeks has gone by and we start a new challenge today. This fortnight we have a photo inspiration challenge.  Take from it what you wish, the image itself or the colours.. your choice but this must be the source of your inspiration. We are sponsored by Saturated Canary this fortnight and I used Hugs and Kisses.
Photo Inspiration
I went with the colours of the photo but I didn't have the exact colours so used different shades of those colours!!!
I coloured Hugs and Kisses in with tria markers. I was going to go with a white theme behind her but then decided I wanted to try some new techniques that I've just learnt about so I distressed around the edge of the card base with pink ink, then inked an embossing folder and ran the white cardstock through the embossing machine. Love the way it turned out although not as perfect as I probably would have liked! I also die cut some flowers and embossed them the say way but I mistakenly embossed first then die cut so it pretty much flattened all the embossing so a note for next time!! to finish off I just added the rhinestones to the middle of the flowers!!!
Well I hope you can join us this fortnight for our Inspiration challenge at Paper Crafting Journey!!! Be sure to follow the rules and only enter up to three entries otherwise you will not be eligible for the prize that is up for grabs!!!

Sketch 39 at SALS!

Another great sketch to play along with this fortnight at Seems a Little Sketchy!
We are sponsored by Sassy Studio designs this fortnight and I used Hippie Chic 2. I have had this image for ages and was glad to finally colour it up!
I switched the layers around a bit but love the way it turned out!! I bought this  basic grey paper (pad) (yes I finally bought some paper after 18 months) and it matched the colours of the image perfectly!!! I then added the embellishments.
I hope that you can join us this week at SALS... Please head on over to the blog to see what the rest of the DT created!!!

Child's Play at Craft Your Passion!

Wow, the weeks are just flying by especially this month, I think because I am so busy!! Not a free weekend in sight! So fitting in time to make cards is a challenge at the moment but I am managing it somehow!!
So it's time for a new challenge at CYP and this week our challenge is Child's Play so we want to see your creations featuring children playing! We are sponsored by the Sugar Kissed Cottage and I got to use this sweet image!!!

Reminds me of my sisters and I when we were little... on the rare occasion that we got along...LOL! I coloured the image in with Tria markers. All the papers are from my stash, and I used my new memory box die - Nottingham border. I then added all the embellishments and the sentiment that I found (obviously fell off another card!!)
I hope that you can join us this week at Craft Your passion! Be sure to stop by the blog to see what the other girls have created!!!

Anniversary at Polka Doodles

Hello and welcome to a new challenge at Polka Doodles!! This week we are challenging you to make an anniversary card!!! This is not an occasion I usually make a card for but I do love the way this one turned out!!!! Again this is another all digital card!!! I sometimes feel like I am cheating going all digital but I love that you can layer and create with so many different paper and elements. There are so many CD's in the Polka doodles shop but if you don't want to wait for the postie (especially those of us who live overseas) then you can always get your digi's immediately if you order from the Digi World at the Polka Doodles store.
Here is my card for the anniversaries  challenge!!

Close up of the heart that has been painted with vanilla shimmer smooch spritz then covered with crystal effects.

I used  paper from the Love and Cherish CD Rom. I then duplicated the paper and cut out the heart so that I could 3D it! I then painted it with smooch spritz and covered it in with crystal effects. I then just added the ribbon and rhinestones to the middle of some of the flowers. The sentiment is from the sensational sentiments stamp sheet.
I hope that you can join us this week at Polka Doodles.

Floral Delights at Craft Your Passion!!

Has anyone else been having trouble with blogger!! Yesterday I tried so many times to post but ended up having to go through picasa to do my blogs!! It was a pain in the behind!!!
Anyway, it's time for a new challenge at Craft Your Passion and we would like to see your Floral creations - so flower papers, flowers, flower images etc!! We are sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps and Stampin Dragon this week!!
I used this cute Stampin Dragon image and made another tag!!

I coloured in the image with tria markers and added a bit of kindyglitz to the middle of the flowers. The paper is from a new paper pad I bought from a craft show on the weekend - kneehighs from Basic Grey. The flowers re also punched out from that paper pad!! To finish the tag off I added the twine and the rhinestones!!!
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you can join us this week at Craft Your Passion!!

I Love You This Much!

Hi it's my turn to post on The Digi Bell's blog!! I decided to make a tag seeing as Mother's day is coming up and thought this wold be great to add to a present!!! I have used "Ï Love You This Much" from Elisabeth Bell's digital collection.

I embossed the flowers and swirls with white embossing powder, then used my summer distress inks for the coloured background! I sprayed a bit of glitter spray but think I ended up ruining it, took away the brightness of the colours!!! I stamped the sentiment on then added the ribbon and Rhinestones! I coloured I Love You This Much" in with tria markers then adhered her to the tag with foam tape.. I then just added the ribbon to the top for tying!!!

Day 2 of His and Hers class!!

Still playing catch up but here is my take on the cards by Cristina Kowalczyk on Day 2 of the His and Hers Class on the Online Card Classes blog with Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner!
These cards followed a technique which was colouring vellum! I had a lot of fun doing these!!
Her Card:

 His Card!

For both the cards I coloured in the strips and stars with tria markers. Then I just added the sentiments and a bit of bling!!!
Really enjoying these classes, learning loads of new stuff, using things I've had for ages and not touched. I have one card done for day three but need to get  few DT cards made first so will be back in the next day or two with those!!

Anything Goes at Paper Crafting Journey

Hello and welcome to another challenge at Paper Crafting Journey. This week our challenge is Anything Goes - so a nice easy one for you (not so for us though as that means lots of commenting - LOL). We are sponsored by Digi Stamps 4 Joy and used this cute little boy fishing!!
I coloured him in with Tria markers, basing on the colours of the paper behind him!!.. Wasn't too sure how to decorate the card so I just used some scraps to look like a bit of water then just stamped out the fish on orange card stock!! Then I added all the buttons!! It turned out cute I think!!
Hope you can join us this fortnight!!

His and Hers online class!!!

Recently I left a comment on The Stamp Spot blog for some blog candy and I was the lucky winner!! (Thanks Michelle) Lucky because the prize was the His and Hers Online Card Class with Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner.. To say I was excited would be an understatement!! Well today  is day three of the classes but I have some cards to show you from day 1 classes.. (I'm still playing catch up!!)
I used a sketch that Kristina based her cards on to make  her his and her cards!!!. I have learnt heaps of new ideas and techniques already and am looking forward to learning more!!!
So here is my take on the sketch:

Her card:
For this card I wasn't sure what I was going to use as Kristina used a flower stamp for her card but I don't have any large flower stamps, so decided to use this flower that I have had for ages and didn't know what to do with it!! I have sprayed it with some vanilla shimmer smooch spritz but you can't really see it, then added  the button!! I used part of a flourish just to add to the flower. Then I inked some vellum with a pink ink, let it dry then stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment!! I wasn't sure if that would dry so for a bit of added extra I added some acetate over the top of the vellum - joining them with the eyelets. I then wrapped a piece of the vellum around the purple cardstock and stuck the sentiment on, then just added bit of twine to finish it off!

 His card:
And for my His card I tried to use some of the things I learnt from Kristina making her "His" card. I used this tan coloured card and wanted a grungy background but I don't have any background stamps so I decided to ink up one of my Tim Holtz embossing folders and press the card onto that!! I think it turned out pretty good!! I then just inked around the edge also!! I used a white gel pen to draw the inner lines around the card!! I die cut this circle and used a Til Holtz embossing folder to emboss it!! Then I used Adirondack paint dabber red pepper and pool and some gold Kaisercraft paint to give the circle some colour! For the sentiment I painted some white card stock with the pool paint, then stamped and heat embossed the sentiment! To finish off the card I added the star!!

I was really happy with the way both these cards turned out... not the kind of cards I usually make but will be sure to from now on!!
