Paper Piecing at Polka Doodles!!

HI all and Happy Good Friday to you all!!! We spent the first part of the day with a wonderful friend and her family then we came and just chillled and watched a movie!!! I now have lots to do before I head off to my Mum's tomorrow so I will keep this short!!
Before I do tell you about todays' new challenge I would like to let you know about a wonderful NEW release at Polka Doodles!! I think it caters to all crafters and it is perfect for the ladies in our lives - I for one can't wait to colour them up.. My kids are now on school holidays for the next two weeks so I'm sure I'll be making the kids do some craft so that I can get these girls coloured up!!
***Fredericka - Mini CD collection
As well as this fabulous collection you can also get  an 8x8" paper pack plus 2 other new products for this collection which are all on the website:
Toppings - this is a pad of 20 sheets of A6 printed colour characters that can be cut with a die-cutting machine to make toppers etc
Colour Me - great for people who love to colour but dont like CD's or dont have a PC - 20 A6 sheets of black and white digis which they can colour themselves and die-cut.
8 x 8 papers - 160gsm, 12 designs x 3 sheets each
So head on over to the Polka Doodles store and check them out and all the other wonderful goodies you can buy!!
Now onto today's challenge - we would like to see your paper piecing!! Although this card looks simple I actually took forever to put it together cos I couldn't decide what papers to use!! I thought it would be good to use those little pieces of paper from my scrap stash but I have so many the choices were too many!!! I decided to do a different fold card for a bit of a change!!
This is the view when it's closed. I used Meeshelle and Maxine from their Fairy Flutterfly  collections. I coloured them up with tria markers and the pants and flower on Meeshelle are paper pieced and on Maxine I have paper pieced her hair scrunchie, jumper and shorts! I then just used the eyelet border punch and added the purple cardstock behind it and punched out a scallop circle with the perfect sentiment for the images!! Then to finish off I added some purple doodle dew drops and the twine to tie the card up with!!

And these two views are when the card is open! I didn't do too much inside - just added a purple strip with some die cut flowers!!
I hope that you can join us this week at Polka Doodles with your paper pieced creations!!
Would like to wish you all a very Happy and safe Easter!!

Animal Antics!!

Wow, another month has gone by and already we are nearly into April!! How time flies!!! Well it is time for a new challenge at Elisabeth Bell's World and this month our challenge is animal antics! So find your Elisabeth Bell stamps that have an animal on them and join us! We are sponsored by Whimsy Stamps this month, Elisabeth has designed some gorgeous stamps for them and I used one of my favourites  Apple Blossom!!
This wasn't what I envisioned when I first starting out making this card but boy do I love how it turned out!! I used a colour combo I have never used before and I actually really like it!! I coloured Apple Blossom with Tria markers and added some kindyglitz to the butterfly and the flowers!! I stamped out the image twice so that I could give the apples some dimension ( not sure you can see it though) I die cut the flowers from the white cardstock, then embossed it! I then stuck it down and added the buttons and twine and kindyglitz for sparkle. I added the twine and dragonfly charm, then added the die cut flowers to fnish it off with the rhinestones!
I hope that you can join us this month using any Elisabeth Bell image with an animal on it. Be sure to let us know what stamp company the image is from that you have used!
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
* Sweet Stampin'- Lots of Layers
* Jelly Park - Pretty Pastels

I added a bit of kindyglitz to the flowers! i die cit two scalloed squares to mat the images then just added the sentiment which is from a CC designs stamp set (one of my very first stamp sets I bought) and the buttons!! Ribbon or Lace at Paper Crafting Journey!!

Sorry this is a day late, it's been a bit of a crazy week here as the boys school had their biannual fete tonight so I have been helping out a lot this week with prearations and set up!!! So although I have had my cards made on time, posts have been a bit left behind!!! Anyway it is all over and I can now get back on track!!
So yesterday saw the start of a new challenge at Paper Crafting Journey - use ribbon or lace! We are being sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs and I used an image I won awhile ago - Steampunk Josephine.
I actually did a bit of recycling with this card because sometimes I make a card that I am not happy with, or use an image that I'm not overly keen on so I figure why throw it away and waste it, may as well make some adjustments.  So the backing of this card was from a bottle tag I had made and I drank the bottle of alcohol so thought I could use it for this card! i used a black card as a base and hole punched the side so I could add some ribbon. I then added some black and red card stcok behind the patterned paper!! I coloured Steampunk Jospehine in with tria markers and also used a glitter pen on parts of her!! i then went over the word "Dream" with kindyglitz.
I hope that you can join us this fortnight at paper Crafting Journey! I look forward to seing what you create!!

Digi Bell's Post!!

This is going to be a super quick post as it is nearly 1am here and I really need to get to bed as I have a busy day ahead.
It is my turn to post on The Digi Bell's Blog and I decided to use Little Rapunzel from Elisabeth Bell's digital collection as the main focus on my card!!
I used Jack and Jill paper by Prima as the basis on my card, making a few adjustments and a bit of creativity to get my card looking like it is!!! I coloured Little Rapunzel in with tria markers and added a bit of kindyglitz to the middle of all the flowers!! Also added it around the outside peony circle. I then just added a few embellishments, including the rik rak, flowers, buttons and rhinestones! I am really happy with the way this turned out, wasn't what I started out creating but all came together beautifully!!!
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
* Inky Impressions - Flowers
* Simon Says Stamp - Easter/Spring
* Bearly Mine - Anything Goes
* 2 Sisters - Flowers for Spring
Don't forget that you can get this adorable image and many others from Elisabeth Bell's digital collection!!

A new sketch at Seems a Little Sketchy!!

A new fortnight and a new challenge at Seems a Little Sketchy!!! This fortnight we are sponsored by The Robin's Nest and Crafty Sentiments Designs. I used Annabel 'The Witch' from Crafty Sentiments Designs for my card and I loved colouring her up!

Annabel is coloured in with tria markers and I added some crystal effects to the water pool and some kindyglitz to parts of the image!! I used some Graphic 45 scraps I had in my stash. I added some twine around the card (cos i didn't want to sew :)) I then added some buttons and the sentiment which I think was just enough for this card!! I think the paper and the image were enough to only add a few embellishments!! I love how this turned out (even though I'm a few months early for halloween - lol)
I hope that you can join us this fortnight and show us what you can create using our sketch!!
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
* Sentimental Sundays  - Anything Goes
* Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes

Favourite 2 colours at CYP!

It's a public holiday here today in Victoria so kids are off school... This morning we went to the Bombers Family Fun day (didn't really have much fun though standing in one line for an hour to get some signatures only to get there and there were different players there). Anyway, the boys had fun!! Guess that's the main thing!! Was a stinkin' hot day so glad they moved the event forward by a couple of hours!!
Anyway, not sure why I'm boring you with that.... it's time for a new challenge today at Craft Your Passion and it is "Your favourite two colours!" We are sponsored by Dilly Beans this week but unfortunately not all of us received images to work with so I have used a Crafty Sentiments image instead! Now I have to say that pink is far from being my favourite colour but I do love pink and brown together so I've used my favourite colour combo!!
I actually made this card over three days cos I wasn't too sure what to do, so I coloured the image in with tria markers, then left it. The next night I went through all my papers and found the embossed spotted brown and white paper. I couldn't find brown and pink paper that I liked so I decided to colour in all the white spots pink, I also did the same with the ribbon!! Was a tedious job but glad I stuck it out!! So I stuck the embossed spotted paper and the pink paper down which made a plus sign look. I added the ribbon and the image!! I then left it and thought about what I wanted to add! And finally I cam back on the third night and added all the die cut vines, flowers and  banner, buttons and butterflies!! I may have overdone it with all the embellishments but I actually really love the way it turned out!! Of course I added the kindyglitz to the flowers for a bit of shimmer and there are pearls there too.!!
Hope you can join us at Craft Your Passion this week!!
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
* Crafty Sentiments - Pretty in Pink
* Pan Pastel UK - Girly Theme
* 4 Crafty Chicks - Die for Dies
* Crafty us Crazy - Anything Goes
* Dutch Dare - Girls Rule

Little Miss Mouse is in the House!!!

Hello blogger friends... How are you all? It's my turn to post on The Digi Bell's Blog and today I have used Little Miss Mouse from Elisabeth Bell's digital collection!! I think this image is so adorable ( I know I say that about all Elisabeth Bell's images but it's true).
I coloured Little Miss Mouse in with tria markers and added glitter to her wings. I also added glitter to the middle of the flowers and the I used a glitter pen on the mushroom spots. The little mouse is hidden behind the ribbon but she is glittered up too!! The papers I have used are from my scrap stash so not sure where they are from. I then added the die cut vines and flowers, punched out the scalloped circle and added a sentiment and of course the rhinestones.
There is another adorable Elisabeth Bell digi image (it's true) being released in just over a week so be sure to keep stopping by the Digi Bell's blog for the release!

I coloured the image in with tria markers, and used some glitter pen on parts of the image! I then just added a strip of black bling paper and used a border punch to make it a bit pretty! Then added the purple ribbon and buttons and rhinestones!!

I used the Five Little Froggies image which I coloured in with tria markers!! I decided to go with a green and black theme for this card, added some embossing to a couple of layers and cut out some frogs from some Magnolia paper!! I kept it pretty simple.. hope you can join us at SALS this fortnight!

Things are ODD at Craft Your Passion!!
