Just sitting around...

It's now 12.30am Australian time and I have been sitting here for 4 hours doing these last three posts. I am amazed at how long it takes to link blogs up and upload and write the post etc!!! Plus my computer decided to stop working in the middle of my second post so I had to redo some of it!!
When I first saw this stamp I fell in love with it but wasn't sure what I would use it for but last weeks Splitcoast stampers weekly Inkling was a tutorial to make a Sliding Pop -Up card and I knew that this stamp would be perfect for this card!! This is actually my second attempt at making this card cos the first one just did not look right. I made a few mistakes to start with but the papers I used just weren't right!! This was such a fun card to make, the video tutorial was very easy to follow and I think in the end this is an awesome card! My boys loved it when I showed them, so I'll probably make some more of them.

I used Kaszazz and american crafts cardstock, not sure what brand the patterned paper is from, flowers are from magnolia, used a cuttlebug embossing folder and coloured tilda in with aquacrayons, watercolour pencils, H2O's and chalks!! And I've sprayed it with vanilla shimmer smooch spritz for the sparkle factor.

Wanted to do this for awhile!!!

I have been looking at loads of blogs over the past week or two and have seen a lot of white cards with just one or two colours added to the image!! They looked amazing, so last night I decided to try my hand  at one and WOW!! I just love how it turned out!! So crisp and clean. i'll be definitely making more like this that's for sure!! So I used the sketch from The Outlawz -wednesday sketch Challenge and I pretty much followed it to a T although I used rhinestones instead of buttons. :)

To make the card I used plain white cardstock, cuttlebug embossing folders, rhinestones, brads, flower punch, and coloured the Sarah Kaye image in with watercolour pencils. I also added some kindyglitz just for some sparkle but yet again you can't really see it!!

I entered this card in the following challenges:

* The Outlawz - Wed Sketch Challenge
* Sketches in Thyme - Open challenge #3
* Let's Ink it Up - Anything Goes
* Cooking it up With Katie - Choose a sketch from another current challenge, Add some texture, Finish with a Punch!
* Scrapbook Sisters - Add a little Friend
* Simon Says Stamp - Animal Antics
* Polly Craft Challenge - Black , white and one other colour
* Sugar Creek Hollow - Splash of colour
* Hodge Podge - White on White

Until Next Time... Enjoy!!! xxx

A long time in the making...

I started making this card a couple of weeks ago when I got together with my friend Sam  for  a crafting session but I felt it needed something more so last night after I made two cards  ( see above posts)I decided to go back to this one and finish it. I  added a few extra embellishments and a sentiment and I now just love it!!Unfortunately this photo just doesn't seem focussed and I think it's about the fifth one I took. Sorry!

To make this card I used My little shoebox paper, Kaszazz SB essentials cardstock, Aquacrayons and twinkling H2O's to colour and  magnolia stamps for the image and sentiment! The rafia was wrapped around my gift that i received from Magnolia last month!!
So I've decided to enter this in a few challenges that I thought it would be suitable for seeing as I made it with no challenges in mind :)

* Just Magnolia - Going Dotty
* Scrappy Frogs - Cupcakes
* Do You Stack Up - Patterned Paper
* Craft your Passion - Two Patterned Papers
* TheCorrosive Challenge - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle ( Rafia)
* The Rubber Cafe - Sparkle and Glitter '( can't really see in this pic but there is kindy glitz on al the cherries and on tilda's dress and head scarf and have used'twinkling H20's on Tilda's dress)
* Creative Inspirations Blog - "What's your favourite colour?" ( Green with Pink and Brown)

Until Next Time... Enjoy!! xxx

WARNING!!! Contains lots of sugar!!

I have been lookng at everyone's blogs over the past week and have been watching all the challenges go by, wishing that I could join in but I have spent the week preparing for my sons birthday!! Anyone who knows me, knows that I love to bake so I relished in the fact that I had heaps to do but no matter how  prepared you think you are, you still seem to run out of time... Or is that just me??? So the weeks leading up to Liam's 6th birthday I came across a couple of fantastic blogs and decided I just had to make what they had so I did!!  Not as good as there's but pretty close I reckon.

Below are choc chip cookie dough truffles and cake pops!! I found the choc chip cookie dough truffles over at Bakingdom and decided to give them a go!! I covered some of them in chocolate but ran out so I left the others plain and they seemed to be a hit more than the chocolate covered one's They are very sweet so perhaps the chocolate was a bit much but I was just following the recipe!!  The cake pops really grabbed my attention when I saw them on the Bakerella they are just adorable and you can make so many things.. Well if you were talented, which I am not!! Anywa, I had planned to make the cupcake pops but just ran out of time so instead had planned to make the smiley faces but because of the weather here the pens would just not work so these are the end result!! The cake is a Red Velvet cake which I got the recipe from here, then I mixed the cake crumbs with some cream cheese frodting then covered them in white chocolate first, then topped them with the blue!! They were rather yummy too... but oh so much sugar!!

Every year i look forward to make my boys birthday cakes and take on any challenge but this year Liam wanted a store bought Ben 10 cake!! I was a bit disappointed but tried to look at it in a different way and figured if I didn't have to make a cake then I would have to be rushed as much!! But i kept pushing the point with Liam just to make sure he really didn't want me to make the cake and suggested that I just make a round cake and we buy the Ben 10 Topper! He was happy with that but then we came across a Harry Potter topper (cos Harry's the best at the moment :)) and he wanted that!! So I decided to make a red velvet cake but blue with a white chocolate cream cheese frosting!! and this is what it turned out like!!

 Below is the outside

 Below is the inside

Everyone seemed to love it and seeing as there is less than half left then I guess it was ok!! LOL!!

After all the baking I decided I wanted to make a special card for Liam and seeing as he was into Harry Potter, I did a search on Harry Potter Digi stamps and came across this one from Bugaboo Stamps.
It was quite late when I made this card and wasn't sure whether i had done enough but Liam loved it!! I would have loved to have bought hermione and Ron but I just didn't have the time to colour them!!

So now that Liam's birthhday is over i can get back to my card making!! I can't wait till Monday when I catch up with Sam and make a couple of cards for some challenges... YAY!!

That's all from me till next week, have a busy few days coming up so will post some cards soon!!

Until Next Time... Enjoy!! xx

A very BIG Welcome and a card!!

Before I start waffling, as I always do, I just wanted to Welcome all my new followers (and hopefully friends in the future) and thank you all for  the lovely comments you have made. It really has boosted my confidence with my card making and I only hope that I can create some magical cards this year! I must say Thank you to Karen over at Feline Playful for doing the Give a comment, receive a comment!!!
So now that I have many new followers who I know love to see more inspiration I'd like to share you with my friend Sam over at Sew many Crafts, So little Time. She is a scrapper, card maker and quilter and her creations are amazing!! So please take a few minutes and head on over there and follow her blog as I know you will be inspired!!
So I have finally managed to find some time to make a card in between baking for my son's 6th birthday which is coming up on Friday!! He is counting down the days, I'm still wondering if I've forgotten to buy anything!! Am doing last minute shopping Friday morning, then will wait for the 15 kids to turn up!! ARRGGHH am I crazy??? I will post photos of some of the baked delights that I am making as I have found some wonderful new cooking blogs that I am making things from!! I can't wait!!
Anyway beofre I get to my card just wanted to share my excitement... I won more Blog Candy! The most generous person in blog land (that i know of so far in my short blogging journey) Jacque over at Jacque's Joie de Vivre has a lot of blog candy on her blog at the moment and this afternoon I found out that I won this:
I can't begin to tell you how excited I was, sorry, am!! I have been looking at these Lily of the Valley stamps for ages cos they are sooooo cute but have yet to purchase any! But now I can wait a bit longer cos they'll be heading my way just as soon as Jacque digs her way out of the snow!! LOL!! Thanks Jacque!!
So now onto my card!! You will have to excuse the poor picture!! I took it in a rush this morning ( before I sent it) and didn't realize how out of focus it was!! I haven't done this card with any challenges in mind! It's my dad's birthday tomorrow so needed a card for him so at midnight last night after baking sausage rolls and pizza scrolls and halfway through making choc chip cookie dough truffles, I put this card together.

I embossed the background with the Tim Holtz embossing folder and then sanded the paper so the green would come through!! And I paper pieced the cup cake pan! I added the buttons at the last minute cos I thought it looked   a bit plain for my liking!!! He's very cute Henry mouse isn't he??
Well I need to get back to baking. Will be back in the next day or two with another card or two.. I need to get my son's birthday card done!!

Until Next time... Enjoy!! xx

LOOK WHAT I WON + a card!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone and welcome to all my new followers that have come from Feline Playful!! It's been great checking out everyone's blogs and seeing all the fantastic talent out there!! Thanks Karen for such a great idea!! I will try and get a lot more cards made this year and enter in more challenges but since Christmas I have not had time to do a lot!! I've spent a week trying to get my Kaszazz creative challenge done and now have to put it all together. I did make a card for a friend of mine yesterday which turned out quite well in the end I think.. I usually find it hard to make male cards but I knew which stamp I wanted to use and the rest just followed!! I haven't entered it in any challenges, cos I wasn't sure if there was a challenge that it would have suited and sometimes it's nice to make a card just because!!

And look what I received in the post just before Christmas!!!! I was very excited except that my son decided that he wanted to give it to me for Christmas so I had to wait to actually open it and have a look.
I won this from participating and commenting on blogs for the Magnolia inspirations Advent Calendar!! What a lot of fun that was and such wonderful creations to see!! I theought I had won only one magnolia stamps so when I received this you can imagine my excitement!! In fact I was so excited I had to ring my friend Sam, who I knew would be excited as well!! And she was!! (the picture isn't overly clear cos it was a very sunny day and windy so had to set everything up quickly before the wind blew it) So now I have lots of goodies to play with in up coming challenges!!
I also won this back in November I think it was when I did a Tickled Pink blog hop!! I won this on Yanitza's blog. I love Willow, she's one of my favourite in the  Lil Lolita range so was stoked when I won this one!!
Well hopefully I'll have some more cards posted in the next few days!! There are quite a few challenges I would like to participate in so now that I'll have my Kaszazz Creatice challenge finished I can focus my attention on challenges!!

Until Next Time... Enjoy!! xx
